  • 1 large egg room temp
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
Cream Cheese Frosting
  • 8 oz cream cheese block style, softened
  • 0.25 cup butter softened
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Topping
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries sliced
  • 2 tbsp strawberry jam warmed, for glaze

Equipment

  • Stand Mixer
  • 9x13 Baking Pan
  • Piping bag
  • Rolling pin

Method

  1. Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let sit 5 mins. Add butter, egg, flour, and salt. Knead until smooth.
  2. Let dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  3. Roll dough into a rectangle. Brush with butter and sprinkle with sugar. Roll into a log and slice into 12 rolls.
  4. Place in pan, cover, and let rise again for 30-45 minutes.
  5. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden. Cool completely.
  6. Whip cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until fluffy.
  7. Toss strawberries with warmed jam.
  8. Pipe frosting onto cooled rolls and top with glazed strawberries and a dusting of powdered sugar.

Notes

Ensure the rolls are fully cooled before adding the frosting, otherwise it will melt and slide off.
