Method
- Combine water, sugar, and 1 cup of cranberries in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Bring to a boil, then add 4 rosemary sprigs. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes until berries burst.
- Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve, pressing on solids to extract juice. Discard solids and let syrup cool completely.
- Fill 4 glasses with ice cubes.
- Pour 2 oz of vodka (or gin) and 2 oz of the cooled syrup into each glass.
- Add a splash of lime juice to each glass.
- Top with club soda or sparkling water and stir gently.
- Garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs and raw cranberries. Serve immediately.
Notes
To make a non-alcoholic mocktail, simply omit the vodka and add more club soda or ginger ale. The syrup can be made up to a week in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
