Ingredients

Foundation
  • 1 (pre-baked) Cake cooled, crumbled
  • 0.5 cup Frosting vanilla, cream cheese
Coating & Detail
  • 1 package Purple Candy Melts light purple
  • 1 package Yellow Candy Melts soft yellow
  • 1 package Pink Candy Melts light pink
  • 1 package Blue Candy Melts sky blue
  • 0.25 cup White Candy Melts for drizzle
  • 0.125 cup Colorful Star Sprinkles pastel mix

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowls
  • Measuring spoons
  • Spatula
  • Parchment paper
  • Baking sheet
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Microwave-safe bowls
  • Holding block (e.g., foam)
  • Piping bag or Ziploc bag

Method

  1. Crumble pre-baked, cooled cake into a fine texture by hand.
  2. Mix in frosting until a cohesive dough forms.
  3. Roll dough into 12 consistent spheres, place on a parchment-lined sheet, and chill in the freezer for 15 minutes.
  4. Melt each pastel candy coating. Dip a lollipop stick into melted coating and insert into each chilled ball.
  5. Dip the entire pop in coating, vertically, then tap wrist gently to remove excess. Place in a holding block to set.
  6. Melt white candy melts. Transfer to a piping bag and create a fine drizzle over each pop.
  7. Immediately sprinkle with colorful star clusters while the white drizzle is still wet. Allow to set completely.

Notes

Using pre-baked cake is a great time-saver. Be gentle when tapping excess coating off, or the pop could fall off the stick. For extra smooth coating, thin the melts with a tiny bit of shortening. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
