  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce or tamari for GF
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar or honey
The Bowls & Veggies
  • 4 cups cooked white rice warm
  • 1 head broccoli cut into florets
  • 2 cups red cabbage shredded
  • 3 green onions sliced
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
The Creamy Spicy Sauce
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Sriracha adjust to taste
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder

Equipment

  • Large skillet or wok
  • Rice cooker or pot
  • Small mixing bowl (for sauce)
  • Chef's knife and cutting board

Method

  1. If rice is not pre-cooked, start cooking it now according to package directions.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Sriracha, lime juice, honey, and garlic powder until smooth. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  3. Steam broccoli florets until tender-crisp (about 5-7 minutes), or pan-sear with a little water covered in a skillet.
  4. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until browned and cooked through.
  5. Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the beef; cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in soy sauce and brown sugar. Simmer for 2 minutes until the sauce glazes the meat.
  6. Assemble bowls: Start with a base of rice. Top with sections of the beef mixture, cooked broccoli, and shredded raw red cabbage.
  7. Drizzle generously with the prepared spicy mayo sauce and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Store components separately for best meal prep results. The sauce keeps for a week in the fridge. You can substitute ground turkey for beef.
