- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder in a large bowl.
- Cut in the frozen grated butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the diced ham, shredded cheese, chopped spinach, and green onions.
- Gradually add buttermilk, stirring until a shaggy dough forms. Do not overwork.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface, fold 3 times for layers, and pat to 1-inch thickness.
- Cut into rounds using a biscuit cutter and place on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.
Notes
To get the best rise, do not twist the biscuit cutter. For a glossy finish, brush the tops with buttermilk before baking. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days.
