Ingredients

Mango Slushy Layer
  • 2 cups frozen mango chunks
  • 1 cup mango juice or water
  • 1 tablespoon honey optional
Strawberry Slushy Layer
  • 2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup strawberry juice or water

Equipment

  • High-Powered Blender
  • Two separate bowls

Method

  1. Make the Mango Layer: Place frozen mango chunks, mango juice, and optional honey in a high-powered blender. Blend until completely smooth and very thick, like a sorbet.
  2. Transfer the mango slushy to a separate bowl and place it in the freezer to stay firm.
  3. Make the Strawberry Layer: Rinse the blender. Place frozen strawberries and strawberry juice/water in the blender. Blend until completely smooth and thick.
  4. Assemble the Slushies: Get two serving glasses. Alternate adding large spoonfuls of the mango slushy and the strawberry slushy into the glasses to create a layered/swirled effect.
  5. Use a spoon or straw to gently create a swirl (optional, do not overmix). Garnish with fresh fruit and serve immediately.

Notes

The key to a good swirl is having both slushy layers at a very thick, 'sorbet-like' consistency so they don't mix immediately. Add liquid sparingly to achieve this texture. Serve with a wide straw.
