Ingredients

Sliders
  • 12 slider buns
  • 1 lb thinly sliced roast beef
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce divided
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion thinly sliced
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • salt and pepper to taste
Au Jus
  • 0.5 cup beef broth
  • remaining Worcestershire sauce from above

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch Baking Dish
  • Small skillet
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Pastry brush
  • Sharp serrated knife

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions for 8-10 minutes until caramelized. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, and half the Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Slice slider buns horizontally without separating them. Place bottom half in prepared baking dish.
  5. Layer roast beef evenly over bottom buns, followed by caramelized onions and provolone cheese slices.
  6. Place top half of buns over filling. Brush butter mixture generously over tops.
  7. Cover with foil and bake 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake 5-8 minutes more until golden brown.
  8. Heat beef broth with remaining Worcestershire sauce in a small saucepan. Season with salt and pepper.
  9. Cut sliders apart and serve immediately with warm au jus for dipping.

Notes

For best results, use freshly sliced deli roast beef. Hawaiian sweet rolls work wonderfully for these sliders. Can be assembled ahead and refrigerated up to 24 hours before baking. Store leftovers in airtight container for up to 3 days.
