Ingredients

For the Apple Fries:
  • 2 large Firm Apples e.g., Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, Fuji, peeled, cored, and cut into 1/2-inch sticks
  • 1 Tbsp Melted Coconut Oil or other neutral oil like avocado oil
  • 0.25 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp Ground Nutmeg optional
For the Glaze:
  • 0.5 cup Powdered Sugar Confectioners' Sugar
  • 1-2 Tbsp Milk any kind, or cream
  • 0.25 tsp Vanilla Extract

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Small bowl for glaze

Method

  1. Peel, core, and cut apples into 1/2-inch thick sticks.
  2. In a large bowl, toss apple sticks with melted coconut oil.
  3. In a small bowl, combine granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add to apples and toss until evenly coated.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Place apple fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket (cook in batches if needed). Air fry for 10-15 minutes, shaking halfway through, until tender-crisp.
  6. While fries cook, whisk powdered sugar, 1 Tbsp milk, and vanilla for glaze. Add more milk 1/2 tsp at a time for desired consistency.
  7. Transfer cooked apple fries to a serving plate and drizzle generously with glaze. Serve warm.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket for best results. Serve immediately for optimal crispiness. Best with firm, sweet-tart apples.
