Ingredients

Chicken Base
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 2 tbsp butter unsalted
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.5 tsp Italian seasoning
Sauce
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp flour all-purpose
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream
  • 1.5 cups parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
Serving
  • 4 brioche buns toasted
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped

Equipment

  • Large Skillet or Saucepan
  • Whisk
  • Cheese grater
  • Cutting board

Method

  1. Melt 2 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté diced onion for 3 minutes, then add minced garlic for 30 seconds.
  2. Add ground chicken and seasonings. Cook until chicken is browned and cooked through (about 6-8 minutes).
  3. Push chicken to the side. Melt remaining 4 tbsp butter in the center and whisk in flour for 1 minute to make a roux.
  4. Slowly whisk in heavy cream. Bring to a simmer until thickened.
  5. Reduce heat to low. Stir in parmesan and mozzarella cheeses until melted and smooth.
  6. Stir the chicken and sauce together until well combined and heated through.
  7. Serve generous scoops on toasted buns sprinkled with garlic powder.

Notes

Serve with a side Caesar salad or roasted broccoli to cut the richness of the Alfredo sauce.
