Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 pan with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, baking soda, spices, and salt in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, whisk melted butter and sugars until smooth. Beat in egg and pumpkin puree.
- Fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Melt chocolate chips with 1 tbsp butter. Mix with 3/4 cup of the pumpkin batter to create the swirl batter.
- Alternate spoonfuls of pumpkin batter and chocolate batter into the pan. Swirl gently with a knife.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Cool completely.
- Make ganache by pouring hot heavy cream over chocolate chips. Whisk until smooth.
- Drizzle over cooled bars and let set before slicing.
Notes
Do not over-swirl the batter, or the colors will muddy. Store in the fridge for a fudgier texture.
