Ingredients

Main Components
  • 12 oz fresh mozzarella balls (Bocconcini) drained
  • 6 oz Prosciutto di Parma thinly sliced
Garnish & Seasoning
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil for drizzling
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper freshly cracked
  • 1 handful fresh basil leaves

Equipment

  • Baking Sheet or Ceramic Dish
  • Parchment paper
  • Knife
  • Paper towels

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Remove mozzarella balls from liquid and pat them very dry with paper towels to ensure crispiness.
  3. Slice prosciutto sheets in half lengthwise to create long strips.
  4. Wrap each mozzarella ball snugly with a strip of prosciutto, ensuring the cheese is mostly covered.
  5. Place wrapped balls seam-side down on the baking sheet, spaced slightly apart.
  6. Bake for 8-12 minutes, or until the prosciutto is golden and crispy. Watch carefully to prevent cheese from melting out completely.
  7. Remove from oven. Arrange on a plate and drizzle generously with olive oil.
  8. Season with oregano and black pepper, garnish with fresh basil, and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, serve immediately. If the prosciutto is too salty for your taste, skip the extra salt seasoning.
