Ingredients
  

Taco Meat
  • 1 lb ground beef 85/15 recommended
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 cup water
Shells & Toppings
  • 12 crunchy taco shells corn
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 2 cups iceberg lettuce shredded
  • 2 roma tomatoes diced
  • 0.25 red onion diced
  • 1 tbsp fresh cilantro chopped

Method
 

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until no longer pink; drain excess fat.
  2. Add chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, and water to the beef. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and toast taco shells for 5 minutes until extra crispy.
  4. Fill each toasted shell with a portion of the seasoned beef.
  5. Top with shredded cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, and cilantro.
  6. Serve immediately with fresh lime wedges.

Notes

For the best flavor, shred your own cheese from a block. If you like heat, add a diced jalapeño or a dash of hot sauce to the meat simmer.
