- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until no longer pink; drain excess fat.
- Add chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, and water to the beef. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and toast taco shells for 5 minutes until extra crispy.
- Fill each toasted shell with a portion of the seasoned beef.
- Top with shredded cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, and cilantro.
- Serve immediately with fresh lime wedges.
Notes
For the best flavor, shred your own cheese from a block. If you like heat, add a diced jalapeño or a dash of hot sauce to the meat simmer.
