Method
- Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, 8-10 minutes. Drain on paper towels and crumble.
- Prepare hard-boiled eggs by boiling, cooling in ice water, peeling, and slicing.
- Season chicken breast with salt and pepper, then grill over medium-high heat for 6-7 minutes per side until internal temperature reaches 165°F. Let rest 5 minutes, then dice.
- Wash and dry romaine lettuce thoroughly, then chop into bite-sized pieces. Halve cherry tomatoes and dice cucumber.
- Arrange chopped romaine in a large serving bowl as the base.
- Create neat rows or sections with each ingredient: chicken, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers, blue cheese, and avocado if using.
- Drizzle with your choice of dressing or serve on the side. Garnish with fresh herbs and black pepper.
- Serve immediately, allowing each person to toss their portion or enjoy ingredients separately.
Notes
For meal prep, store all components separately in airtight containers for up to 4 days. Assemble just before serving for best texture. Substitute turkey bacon for a lighter option, or use rotisserie chicken for convenience.
