Christmas Tree Deviled Eggs

Festive holiday deviled eggs with green yolk filling piped to look like Christmas trees, topped with cheese stars and fresh dill.

Ingredients
  

Base
  • 12 eggs large
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1 green food coloring gel preferred
Decorations
  • 1 slice cheddar cheese thick cut
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill chopped
  • 0.5 tsp paprika for dusting

Method
 

  1. Hard boil eggs: cover with water, boil, remove from heat, let sit 12 mins. Cool in ice bath.
  2. Peel eggs and slice in half lengthwise. Remove yolks to a bowl.
  3. Mash yolks thoroughly. Mix in mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Add green food coloring until desired tree color is reached.
  5. Transfer filling to a piping bag with a star tip.
  6. Pipe mixture into egg whites, swirling up high to form a tree shape.
  7. Cut small stars from cheese and place on top of each tree.
  8. Sprinkle with paprika and fresh dill to decorate.

Notes

Substitute 1 avocado for half the mayo for a natural green color. Store whites and filling separate if making days ahead.
