Ingredients
  

Casserole Base
  • 2 lbs chicken breasts boneless skinless, cubed
  • 0.5 lb deli ham chopped
Swiss Cheese Sauce
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk whole milk preferred
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups Swiss cheese shredded
  • 1 pinch salt and white pepper to taste
Topping
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 4 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  2. Spread the cubed chicken and chopped ham evenly in the baking dish.
  3. In a saucepan, melt 4 tbsp butter. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Slowly whisk in milk and cook until thickened (3-5 minutes).
  5. Remove from heat. Stir in Dijon, Worcestershire, salt, pepper, and shredded Swiss cheese until melted.
  6. Pour sauce evenly over the chicken and ham.
  7. Mix breadcrumbs, melted butter, parsley, and garlic powder. Sprinkle over the top.
  8. Bake for 35-45 minutes until bubbly and chicken reaches 165°F.

Notes

Serve with a side of steamed broccoli or green beans to balance the richness of the cheese sauce.
