Cheesy Pepperoni Pizza Tacos

Ingredients
  

Meat Filling
  • 1 lb ground beef lean
  • 1.5 cups pizza sauce or marinara
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
Assembly
  • 12 hard taco shells stand 'n stuff preferred
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 0.5 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1 tbsp fresh basil chopped, for garnish

  • 9x13 Baking Dish
  • Meat Chopper or Spatula
  • Cheese grater

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Prepare a baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until cooked through.
  3. Drain excess grease. Add oregano, garlic powder, and salt. Stir well.
  4. Pour in pizza sauce and simmer on low for 3-5 minutes until thickened.
  5. Place taco shells in the baking dish. Spoon meat mixture evenly into shells.
  6. Top generously with shredded mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese is bubbly and pepperoni is crispy.
  8. Let rest for 2 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil.

Notes

To prevent soggy shells, make sure your meat sauce is thick and not watery. You can also place a pinch of cheese at the bottom of the shell before adding the meat.
