- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Thoroughly grease a Bundt pan with butter.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, soda, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
- Stir in cold buttermilk to form a shaggy dough. Knead gently and roll into 1-inch balls.
- Mix melted butter with garlic and herbs in a bowl. Toss cheese in a separate bowl.
- Dip each dough ball in garlic butter and layer in the Bundt pan, alternating with generous sprinkles of cheese.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes until golden brown and cooked through (skewer test).
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate.
- Top with any remaining cheese and herbs while hot.
Notes
Use block cheese and grate it yourself for the best melting texture. Pre-shredded cheese contains anti-caking agents.
