Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate into eight triangles.
- Place one slice of ham and one slice of cheese (or shredded cheese) on the wide end of each dough triangle.
- Roll from the wide end towards the tip to form the crescent shape. Gently pinch to seal the edges of the gooey filling.
- Make the Gooey Glaze: Whisk together melted butter, Dijon, brown sugar/honey, parsley, and garlic powder until thick and viscous.
- Arrange croissants on the sheet. Liberally brush the gooey glaze over the tops and sprinkle with seeds.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until deep golden brown and the gooey cheese has melted and oozed slightly.
- Let cool for 5-10 minutes on the sheet before serving. Caution: Molten cheese is very hot!
Notes
Use a good melting cheese like Gruyère or Swiss for the best gooey center. Parchment paper is essential for easy cleanup of the oozed, caramelized cheese. For extra flavor, use Black Forest ham.
