Method
- Poke the spaghetti squash several times with a fork. Microwave for 3-4 minutes to soften the shell slightly, making it easier to cut. Let cool briefly.
- Carefully cut the squash in half lengthwise. Use a spoon to scoop out and discard the seeds and pulp.
- Drizzle the cut sides of the squash with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place squash halves in the basket, cut-side down. You may need to cook in batches depending on basket size.
- Air fry for 15-25 minutes. Check at 15 minutes; it is done when a fork easily pierces through the skin and flesh.
- Remove from air fryer and let cool for 5-10 minutes. Use a fork to scrape the flesh into spaghetti-like strands.
- Serve immediately with your favorite sauce or toppings.
Notes
Cooking time depends heavily on the size of your squash and air fryer model. If you want longer strands, cut the squash into thick rings instead of lengthwise halves, though rings may be harder to fit in the basket.
